Helping Our Fellow Believers
Mar 31st, 2008
Tammie and McKenzie had an opportunity this week to serve alongside our brothers and sisters from Derby Baptist as they hosted a catfish dinner and silent auction benefit at the Baptist Student Union in Poplarville to raise money for our good friend, Glenn StGermain, a member of the Derby Baptist family who is struggling with cancer.
Have you ever noticed how Scripture encourages us to help our fellow believers?
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all,
especially to those who are of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10 NKJV).
Fresh, HOT fried catfish, french fries, and hush puppies were served with coleslaw and a slice of cake. The food was GREAT, and so was the fellowship! The community really turned out to help one of there own, and at the end of the day, everyone involved with the effort considered it a terrific success!
McKenzie was THRILLED to win a budgie parakeet at the silent auction! Derby Baptist members did a great job of rounding up a variety of items from Poplarville business owners, who gave so generously to help out a member of their community.
