Beulah Land Man
Apr 29th, 2008
More About: Bro. Buddy Sheriff, Bro. John McNair, Bro. Shad Kennedy, Dr. Mike Barnett, G.A. McCoy, Union Baptist Church
Benjy sang the lead on a BEAUTIFUL arrangement of Beulah Land with the choir at our home church Sunday morning as we kicked off our 2008 spring revival. WOW! They sound GREAT together! That is my favorite version of Beulah Land … I WISH you could hear them sing it! Beulah Land has been Benjy’s MOST requested song over the years. He has sung it so often that McKenzie and I have started calling him Beulah Land Man! You can see Benjy standing to the right of the door on the back row.
Our evangelist this week was Dr. Mike Barnett from First Baptist Ocean Springs … that’s him seated between our senior pastor, Bro. Buddy Sheriff (right) and our youth pastor, Bro. Shad Kennedy (left). I’m sure he’ll appreciate me posting a photo of the back of his head, but I was really just trying to get a photo of Benjy singing with the choir!
Dr. Barnett did a fantastic job preaching God’s Word, and his messages were recorded. You can hear them online if you’re interested: 04/20/08 am, 04/20/08 pm, 04/21/08 pm, 04/22/08 pm, 04/23/08 pm.
I’m sorry I didn’t get a photo of Dr. Barnett in the pulpit, but I did get some great shots of a few people who make the Union Baptist Church congregation so special to us.

We just LOVE Ms. Evelyn! She is McKenzie’s ‘stand in’ grandmother at Union! Her grandson was visiting with us for our Sunday morning revival service. |

Bro. and Ms. McCoy are such a blessing to our family. Bro. G.A. McCoy is the busiest ‘retired’ minister I’ve ever met! He pastored this church for 26 years, and has returned to Union as his home base in his retirement years. Benjy surrendered to preach under Bro. McCoy’s pastorate in 1999. McKenzie and I shared a pew with them for the first service of our spring revival |

If these aren’t three of the sweetest ladies!!! They sit behind us every Sunday, and they are full of hugs and good conversation! The two on the right are sisters. ‘Nainie’ (wearing cream) was 98 two weeks ago … and she still keeps the 4 and 5 year old SS class! |

We have the most precious people on earth at our church! Bro. Paul and Ms. Maxine sit on the pew in front of us, and he ALWAYS gives McKenzie a piece of peppermint! Bro. Paul is a retired minister. I was so glad they were able to be there Sunday morning for the first service of our spring revival. |
Our hand bell choir did a WONDERFUL job at the Sunday evening revival service. Ms. Kathy and Bro. John McNair are a wonderfully gifted husband and wife team, and they have made our music program something beautiful!
